July 2006 Antitope Ltd., a leader in the generation of therapeutic human antibodies, and VasGene Therapeutics, Inc., a leader in the development of therapeutics based on new discoveries in vascular biology, today announced the completion of a successful collaboration for the generation of two therapeutic antibodies which target proliferative vascular diseases. For the collaboration, Antitope applied its Composite Human Antibody technology to novel targets identified by VasGene, resulting in antibodies that inhibit pathways common to most vascular growth factors that are produced in cancer and vascular diseases such as age related blindness-macular degeneration.
