Antitope Ltd. Announces Antibody Research Agreement with Fusion Antibodies Ltd. (Belfast, UK)
Cambridge UK, 10th July 2008 - Antitope Ltd. ("Antitope") today announced a research agreement with Fusion Antibodies Limited ("Fusion") for the generation of therapeutic monoclonal antibodies. The research program will use Antitope's proprietary Composite Human AntibodyTM technology for the humanization of Fusion's proprietary lead antibody.
"We are delighted to be working with Fusion to produce humanized antibodies with low immunogenic potential" said Dr Matthew Baker, Chief Scientific Officer and co-founder of Antitope Limited. "This partnership builds on Antitope's expertise in humanized antibodies devoid of T cell epitopes with Fusion's skills and innovation in monoclonal antibodies and new cancer therapies."
"Antitope has excellent complementary technology to Fusion and therefore is an ideal partner for the pre-clinical design and formulation of our lead drugs" said Prof. Jim Johnston, Chief Scientific Officer of Fusion Antibodies. "We have developed a very successful working relationship for this and, we anticipate, for our future pipeline antibody therapeutics."
