Antitope Ltd and Vascular Pharmaceuticals Enter into a Antibody Research Agreement

CAMBRIDGE, UK - 29th June, 2009 - Antitope, a privately held biotechnology company, today announced a research agreement with Vascular Pharmaceuticals, Inc. for the generation of therapeutic antibodies for treatment of vascular disease. The agreement brings together Vascular Pharmaceuticals' expertise in therapeutic antibody discovery and Antitope's Composite Human AntibodyTM technology for engineering of fully-humanized antibodies.

Dr Matthew Baker, Chief Scientific Officer and co-founder of Antitope commented, "We are very pleased to work with Vascular Pharmaceuticals for the development of important new treatments for vascular disease. The partnership exploits Antitope's proficiency in producing non-immunogenic, fully humanized antibodies devoid of T cell epitopes to complement Vascular Pharmaceuticals' innovative technologies providing important new treatments for vascular disease."

Professor David Clemmons, founder of Vascular Pharmaceuticals commented, "Vascular Pharmaceuticals is pleased to enter into an agreement with Antitope to develop a humanized antibody for the treatment of atherosclerosis in patients with diabetes. We are very enthusiastic about Antitope's technological expertise and experience in developing humanized antibodies and in screening for immunogenicity. We look forward to working together to achieve this important therapeutic objective.
